So you can parent with joy, lightness, and self-compassion
If you’re here, it means you just want to get it right—the sleeping, the feeding, the emotional connection. Maybe you are experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, a disconnect, mothers’ guilt, feelings of depression, or parenthood just isn’t what you were expecting.
If you feel any of these, please know there is support for you. I want to help you to be kind to yourself and feel confident in motherhood, so you can feel more connected to your baby, your partner, and your own emotions.
Through online or in-person psychology sessions, we will work through your feelings and help you to become the parent you want to be. Because chances are, you’re already doing much better than you think.
Antenatal Psychology Support
Pregnancy is often exciting, but it can also carry many physical and emotional challenges. Some of my clients had difficult experiences growing up or have a complex relationship with their own parents, and are worrying about how they are going to cope. Pregnancy can bring up past trauma. You are going through one of the biggest changes of your life, preparing for birth and parenthood and learning to manage all the physical and emotional challenges that come with being pregnant. Together we can work through the many emotions that you may experience and help you prepare for the big life changes soon to come.
Postnatal psychology
After the birth, focus often shifts away from mum and onto the new baby. I want you to know that your emotions and mental wellbeing are no less important now and deserve a safe space. Many of my clients feel resentment toward their partner since baby was born or guilt for missing their life before baby arrived. This can be such a difficult time—adjusting to your new identity as mother while healing from birth, bonding with your baby, managing other relationships, and learning to cope with an infant’s many needs-- all on very little sleep! Not to mention all the daunting (and often unsolicited) advice from everyone. I can help you to navigate this complex phase in your life so you can feel more like yourself again.
Psychology for toddler mums
All new challenges can come up during the toddler and pre-school years, including possibly welcoming your second baby into the world. Whether you’re adjusting to life as a mum-of-two or learning to manage those big toddler emotions without losing your temper, I am here to help you to bond with your child and look after yourself at the same time.
I would love to help you feel more connected to your child and supported in your motherhood journey.
