Mums in Mind Psychology
I’m Taisia Thompson, clinical psychologist for mums with young babies and children.
I have been exactly where you are now.
I work with mums of babies or young children who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, or overwhelm. They just want to be good mums, and feel like they are failing-- even though more often than not, they are doing a great job. They are emotionally tuned to their children’s needs but want to do even better. Often, they feel guilty that they don’t enjoy parenting all the time, or that they lose their temper with their little ones. Some clients have good supports but feel uncomfortable asking for help, and some don’t have much support at all.
I get it. I parented my three children with little support, and it can be overwhelming and isolating. It is very difficult to be everything your child needs (and they need a lot!) when you don’t have the proper support in place for yourself.
I would love to meet you and help you to work through those feelings of anxiety and overwhelm so that you can parent with more joy, lightness, and self-compassion.
I believe in “good-enough” parenting, being kind to yourself, and understanding that mistakes will happen. Perfection isn’t attainable or realistic.
As a mum with family overseas, I am especially passionate about supporting women who don’t have family nearby and need the extra support. I offer psychology sessions in Portuguese as well as English.
